On Your Old Hosting:

Step 1: Backup Your Website

Step 2: Update all of your themes, plugins, and WordPress itself.

Step 3: Navigate to Tools > Export. Select All content, then click “Download Export File”

Step 4: Download the Customizer Export/Import plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/customizer-export-import/

Step 5: Navigate to the WordPress customizer (Appearance > Customize), then under “Export/Import” click “Export.”

Step 6: Navigate to your NEW website on WP Propeller > or create a new site if you haven’t already.

Step 7: Go to Tools > Import, then select WordPress at the bottom of the list. Select the .XML file that you exported, then click “Upload file and import”

Step 8: Assign posts to your existing username, and check the box for “Download and import file attachments.” Then click “Submit.” (Be patient: It may take a few minutes depending on the size of your website and the number and size of the images.) NOTE: Occasionally it will look like the import failed. Before attempting again, check to see if your pages, posts, etc. are imported.

Step 9: Navigate to Settings > Reading and assign the proper page as your front page.

Step 10: Go to Appearance > Menus and assign your menus to the proper positions on your website.

Step 11: Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Export/Import > Import and select the .DAT file that you exported from the old site. Click the check box to import image files. Then click “import.”

Step 12: Import additional plugin settings, etc. (if any).
